Valentine’s day

Posted: February 15, 2011 in Personal

Do we really need someone else to celebrate the day of love ? Charity starts at home. Love beings within ourselves 🙂 🙂

Yesterday shared my wedding and engagement announcement to my friends. All those wishes and hugs made me fall in love with me all over again.

S (my future husband, current boyfriend) was out-of-town and he asked me what he can get me from his native ? (This is not his usual dialogue, since he claims this is our last V day as love birds)

Yesterday i was in morning shift and the day was so busy, i had my breakfast at 11. So at office i was pretty occupied.

But when i came home, nobody was there and i ate alone, still i was filled with overwhelming joy.

Out of nowhere i thought of my two grandmothers (amummas 🙂 🙂 )

I love the way they smell, and sometimes I sniff their bath soaps jus to get the feel of them.

My dad’s mom uses chandrika soap, even when she was bedridden, i heard she demanded that soap 🙂 🙂 She has those silver Hazel eyes and she is an epitome of beauty.

My mom’s mom chews betel leaves and she used Radha’s soap. Sometimes at night, she asks the kids in the house to get her water or betel nut and we would fight among ourselves to get her that 🙂 🙂 🙂

So i asked my guy to hunt down Radha’s soap at native. I miss u both very much.

When i was outta college and just got a job, both my ammummas passed away.  (Mom’s mom passed away on Diwali and Dad’s mom passed away on Karthikai Deepam)

I felt terrible for not able to view them for the last time. Somehow i see a strong similarity between these two ladies.

They managed the finances of the house , with whatever provided by the husbands.

They had half a dozen of  kids, yet they took time to look after themselves and groom themselves.

Last, but not the least, they found happiness in whatever they did for the family.

This may am gonna be married and i wonder , will i ever be happy and determined like my ammummas ??? !!!

This V day is dedicated to those strong women , who has influenced me to believe in myself and celebrate the small joys of life.
